DGV-TC-039L4: Evidence TransportGER-340: Evidence Anchor Not VerifiableVersion: 1.0.0
Transparency Log Anchor Integrity
Verifies that the append-only SHA-256 Merkle transparency log correctly issues and validates inclusion proofs for anchored evidence entries. Any third party holding the log root and an inclusion proof can independently verify that a specific evidence record was committed to the log, without trusting the operator. A forged or non-existent entry cannot produce a valid inclusion proof.
Operational Purpose & Scope
Verifies that entry-B (a real committed evidence anchor) produces a valid Merkle inclusion proof against the 4-entry log root. Any party can recompute this proof independently.
Verification Context
- Target Scope:
SCITT-compatible append-only Merkle log; evidence anchor; TRACE registry integration - Audit Strategy:
exact-match - Verification Metrics:
anchor_verifiedinclusion_proof_validmerkle_rootentry_indexinclusion_depth - Framework Origin:DGV v0.5.0 Expansion
- Mandatory:Yes — must pass for certification
Governance Risk & Penalty
Forged inclusion proof allows fabricated evidence entries in the transparency log, undermining independent verification.
Expected Outcome
- pass:
true - gate_status:
"OPEN" - anchor_verified:
true - inclusion_proof_valid:
true
